Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 25, 2026

Neosupport AB (“we” or “us”), a company registered in Sweden, operates fxengine.io, including fxEngine Shell running in your browser (together, “the site”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

In short

  • You can use the site without giving us any personal data.
  • The site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies.
  • If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address to send it to you, until you unsubscribe.
  • We count visits with our own installation of Plausible Analytics, which identifies no one.
  • Formulas you type into fxEngine Shell stay in your browser.
  • We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

The newsletter

When you subscribe, we store your email address, the lists you subscribed to, when you subscribed and confirmed, and, as a record of your consent, the IP address you confirmed from. We send you an email asking you to confirm, and do not send anything else until you confirm.

We use your email address to send you the newsletter and, rarely, other messages about fxEngine that the newsletter covers. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation, the GDPR).

Every message has a link to unsubscribe, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. When you unsubscribe, we keep your email address only marked as unsubscribed, so that we never write to you again by mistake. Ask us, and we delete it entirely.

Our newsletter software, listmonk, runs on our own server. Messages are sent through Twilio SendGrid (see “Who processes data for us” below), which may record whether a message was delivered or bounced. We don’t track whether you open our messages or click their links.

Visits to the site

To understand how the site is used, we count visits with Plausible Analytics, an open-source analytics tool that we run on our own server. It sets no cookies and stores no personal data. To tell visits apart for a single day, it computes a one-way hash of your IP address and browser identification, salted with a value that is deleted every 24 hours, so that visits cannot be linked across days. Your IP address is used to determine your country and is then discarded. We see totals only: pages viewed, where visitors came from, and their country, browser, operating system and type of device.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records each request: the IP address, the time, the page or file requested, the referring page and the browser identification. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, which is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). They are deleted after 14 days, unless we need them longer to investigate an attack.

Your browser’s storage

The site keeps a few preferences in your browser’s local storage and session storage: your settings, such as the decimal separator, the width and state of the shell sidebar, which sections of the documentation sidebar are expanded, and fxEngine Shell’s settings and the history of what you typed into it. This information stays in your browser and is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser’s settings.

fxEngine Shell runs entirely in your browser. The formulas you type into it are not sent to us or to anyone else. The same goes for searches on the site.

Email

If you email us, we keep the correspondence to answer you and for as long as it’s useful for following up on your question, which is our legitimate interest.

Who processes data for us

  • DigitalOcean hosts our server in Frankfurt, Germany, which runs the site, the newsletter software and Plausible Analytics.
  • Twilio SendGrid sends our newsletter. Twilio Inc. is based in the United States and participates in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found to protect personal data adequately.

They process data only on our behalf and under our instructions. We share no personal data with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it,
  • have it corrected if it is wrong,
  • have it deleted,
  • restrict or object to how we process it,
  • receive it in a structured, machine-readable format, and
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before.

To use any of these rights, email us at support@fxengine.io. We may ask you to confirm that the email address is yours. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Sweden, that is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (imy.se).

Children

The site is meant for developers and is not directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we publish the new version here with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we also tell newsletter subscribers by email before they take effect.
