Numbers1
The first set of values. This array must have the same size as the other array parameter.
Numbers2
The second set of values. This array must have the same size as the other array parameter.
Returns
The sample covariance.
Returns the sample covariance, which is the sum of the products of the deviations of each pair of values from their means, divided by the number of pairs minus 1. Use this function if the values are a sample of a larger population, and COVARIANCE.P if they make up the entire population.
A positive result indicates that the values tend to increase together and a negative result indicates that one tends to decrease as the other increases. Use CORREL for a measure that does not depend on the scale of the values.
Example
Returns roughly 3.17. The positive result indicates that the values of the second array tend to increase with the values of the first array.
