T.TEST (Numbers1, Numbers2, Tails, Type) T.TEST (Numbers1; Numbers2; Tails; Type)
Numbers1
The first set of values.
Numbers2
The second set of values. For a paired test, this array must have the same size as the other array parameter.
Tails
Number Number
The number of tails of the distribution, which is 1 or 2. Use 1 if only a difference in one direction is of interest and 2 otherwise.
Type
Number Number
The type of t-test: 1 for a paired test, 2 for a test of two samples with equal variances and 3 for a test of two samples with unequal variances.
Returns
Number Number
The probability of a Student's t-test.
Returns the probability of a Student's t-test, which tests whether two sets of data are likely to come from populations with the same mean. A small result, such as one below 0.05, indicates that the means differ.
Example
T.TEST ({ 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 1, 2, 4, 5 }, { 6, 19, 3, 2, 14, 4, 5, 17, 1 }, 2, 1)
T.TEST ({ 3; 4; 5; 8; 9; 1; 2; 4; 5 }; { 6; 19; 3; 2; 14; 4; 5; 17; 1 }; 2; 1)
Returns roughly 0.2.
