ISODD (Number) ISODD (Number)

Number

Number Number

The number to check.

Returns

Logical Logical

Whether the given number is odd.

Returns whether the given number is odd. ISODD (3) ISODD (3) returns TRUE and ISODD (4) ISODD (4) returns FALSE.

A number with a fractional part is first truncated toward zero, meaning that its fractional part is discarded. As such, ISODD (3.7) ISODD (3,7) returns TRUE.

An odd number is not evenly divisible by 2. To determine if a number is evenly divisible by another number, use the MOD function. These formulas are equivalent for whole numbers:

ISODD (Value1)
ISODD (Value1)

MOD (Value1, 2) <> 0
MOD (Value1; 2) <> 0

To determine if a number is even, consider using the ISEVEN function.

Examples

ISODD (3)
ISODD (3)

ISODD (4)
ISODD (4)

ISODD (Value1)
ISODD (Value1)

MOD (Value1, 2) <> 0
MOD (Value1; 2) <> 0

Determines if Value1 is odd.
