WEIBULL.DIST (X, Alpha, Beta, IsCumulative) WEIBULL.DIST (X; Alpha; Beta; IsCumulative)

X

Number Number

The value at which to evaluate the function.

Alpha

Number Number

The shape parameter of the distribution.

Beta

Number Number

The scale parameter of the distribution.

IsCumulative

Logical Logical

TRUE to return the probability that a value is at most the value of the X parameter (the cumulative distribution function). FALSE to return the height of the distribution's curve at that value (the probability density function), which is useful for plotting the distribution but is not itself a probability.

Returns

Number Number

A value for a Weibull distribution.

Returns a value for a Weibull distribution. The Weibull distribution is commonly used for the lifetime of components. The Alpha parameter determines how the failure rate changes over time. Below 1, the failure rate decreases. At 1, it is constant, and the distribution is the exponential distribution. Above 1, it increases, as with wear.

Examples

WEIBULL.DIST (2.5, 3, 4, TRUE)
WEIBULL.DIST (2,5; 3; 4; TRUE)

Returns roughly 0.22.

WEIBULL.DIST (2.5, 3, 4, FALSE)
WEIBULL.DIST (2,5; 3; 4; FALSE)

Returns roughly 0.23.
