STANDARDIZE (X, Mean, StandardDeviation) STANDARDIZE (X; Mean; StandardDeviation)
X
Number Number
The number to normalize.
Mean
Number Number
The arithmetic mean of the distribution.
StandardDeviation
Number Number
The standard deviation of the distribution.
Returns
Number Number
The equivalent value in a standard normal distribution.
Converts a value to a z-score in a standard normal distribution (mean 0, standard deviation 1). The z-score is computed as (X - Mean) / StandardDeviation .
Example
STANDARDIZE (18, 12, 3)
STANDARDIZE (18; 12; 3)
Returns 2. The value 18 lies two standard deviations above the mean of 12, so the z-score is (18 - 12) / 3 = 2 .
